This class emphasizes the fundamental practices of classical yoga. Beginning with centering and pranayama breathing exercises, the class helps students to gain strength and confidence through the performance of standing poses and sequences, such as sun salutations, warrior, and balances poses. Safely aligned forward folds and gentle back bends help students alleviate injury and strengthen the body’s digestive and immune systems. To release congestion and relieve tension in the body, students engage in spinal toning through twists. Students rejuvenate the lymphatic and endocrine system with various types of inversions. The effects and lessons of the practice are absorbed through deep relaxation, meditation, and purifying pranayama. The class suits all students, especially those who are new to yoga or those who prefer a gentler practice. Multiple posture options are offered, and students can gradually build strength and balance needed for more advanced yoga practice. All levels welcome.

Students will practice Surya Namaskar and be introduced to Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa to warm up the body, bring flexibility to all muscles and joints, and wake up the nervous system. A gentle yet powerful series of balancing, stretching, back bending, twisting and inverted postures will follow. This practice ends with deep relaxation, breathing, and meditation exercises to remove impurities and bring a sense of well being to the body and radiant peace to the mind. A multi-level and physically absorbing vinyasa combining Dharma levels I, II, III, IV. It reintegrates the flow of prana through the spinal column and supports healthy vitality deeply into all areas of the physical, metabolic, pranic, and bliss bodies. It promotes harmony within all these layers so a concentrated state of radiant health is achieved. All levels welcome.

This all-levels yoga class offers every practitioner the opportunity to create integration between mind, body and heart. With themes rooted in yogic philosophy, Manassah builds each sequence to open and support each practitioner.  It provides a balance between the opportunity to commit to a regular class and the flexibility of dropping in for new students and those whose schedules don't permit a weekly commitment.  A regular practice builds strength, flexibility and balance. Doing this in the company of friends (and people who will become friends) only elevates us all. Join us on Tuesday nights for a mindful, alignment-based practice in service of the heart.
